The Times: They Are A Changin’

Can you sense the winds of change that are blowing over America and the face of the entire earth? Economies are in upheaval leading to civil and social unrest; more people are committing suicide and experiencing depression resulting from the poor economy; political systems are being eroded; ethnic violence is increasing; natural disasters are more commonplace and are reaching record levels in damage costs; the rich are robbing the poor blind; our oceans and rivers are polluted and drying up; Texas, America’s leading producer of beef (food) and cotton (clothing) is experiencing record-breaking heat and drought; dust clouds are engulfing entire cityscapes; wars are being fought in many different places; new world alliances are forming; food prices are rising rapidly; and there are even signs in the heavens that we are embarking upon an era never witnessed before.

As I write this, America’s east coast may still be experiencing the aftershocks of an unprecedented 5.8 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake caught everyone off guard as there hasn’t been a major one in this portion of the United States since 1944. Keep in mind that a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Colorado on the previous day.

Here are some of the headlines:

Cathedral Shaken by Earthquake
East is all shook up after strong earthquake for region
East coast earthquake reveals faults in nuclear emergency planning
5.8-magnitude quake shakes central Virginia, East Coast
Churches take hit as quake shakes East Coast
Earthquakes in Colorado and East Coast Startle Unsuspecting Residents
Aging East Coast infrastructure a concern after quake‎

Did you notice in the headlines the numerous times the word shake was used? The scriptures also refer to a great shaking that will only leave that which is unshakeable.

When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.
Hebrews 12:26-27 NLT

Yesterday’s earthquake was felt over a very large area as reported by Yahoo News:

The quake was felt as far north as Toronto, as far west as Indiana and Kentucky and as far south as Atlanta and Savannah, Ga. It was also felt on Martha’s Vineyard of Massachusetts, where President Barack Obama, who is vacationing there, was getting ready to tee off in a round of golf.

Fortunately, although there was damage in various places it does not seem major and there was no loss of life. But there is something very symbolic that has taken place. Two of Washington’s most visited and recognizable landmarks, the Washington Monument and the National Cathedral, have sustained damage and have been closed. I find great significance in this. There is a great movement in this country to erase the boundaries of church and state. Both institutions have been corrupted to the core and are slowly being merged into one apparatus by those who feel they are called by God to do so. It is the harlot church of Revelation merging with the Beast system of government that will lead to the intense persecution of true believers. For the Washington Monument (which represents the country’s politics) to sustain cracks at the top of the structure, and the National Cathedral (which represents the country’s religion – of course this is not all-inclusive) to sustain substantial damage represent God’s judgment on both institutions in my opinion.

The earthquake was another unmistakable warning shot as the birth pangs of crisis for this nation are continuing to increase. Will we bury our heads in the sand and hope these things will go away? Or will we face the truth of our wretched condition before God and repent before it is too late? The time for playing games is over! We are on the brink of changes so severe that the times we are living in now will seem like paradise. I know, I know, you might be thinking, “Why all this doom and gloom?” Believe me, I do not enjoy being the bearer of these messages, but they are absolutely vital in helping others to wake up to the dire situation at hand. I have explained many of the reasons for the chaotic state the world is in in other articles on this blog. If you have the time, please take the opportunity to read them.

America is ripe for judgment. The evil we have sown around the world is going to be repaid. The land of the free is becoming the land of the internee, and the home of the brave is being replaced with the home of the slave. Take a look at the draconian police state measures that have happened in London as a result of the riots, and know that this is also taking place right here in America. When the pot finally boils over in this country and the powder keg finally explodes, what will you do and where will you run for protection? The time is now to get our houses in order, both spiritually and physically. The Lord is speaking to those who have ears to hear. We should be busy building our arks of safety in The Lord, because the flood of judgment draws nigh.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
James 4:8-10
