Thanksgiving: A Time to Refocus

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I Thessalonians 5:18

On this Thanksgiving Day in America, it is a good time to reflect on our lives and realize that though there is economic turmoil, wars and rumors of even more, brutal violence against peaceful protesters, and a plethora of corrupt politicians vying for the Presidency, that through it all, God is sovereign and in complete control of all world events. His promises to protect those who belong to Him are still standing.

If you have been reading the articles on this blog, you should be well aware of the dire situation that faces us in America and the rest of the world. We are on the brink of great tribulation. However, enough about this has been written already. For the foreseeable future, I will be writing about these end times from a much different perspective. Too many of us are focusing on the negative, depressing news that fills our airwaves and web browsers to the point where we are losing focus. People are becoming addicted to bad, depressing news. We are not called to this. We are called to think on those things that are true, honest, just, pure, virtuous, and good. We are called to be the head, not the tail. We are called to have God’s purposes in mind in all we do. We are not to spread fear and panic, but to speak the truth in love, hoping others will hear our message and be saved. Knowing all of the traps of the enemy and the secrets of darkness will not save us. We must be more intimate with the thoughts of the Most High in order to see us through to victory. Though the end of the age features a time of trouble greater than anything the world has ever witnessed, it has a glorious end. This must be our focus!

The next series of messages will deal with God’s eternal perspective on these evil days we are living in. We are on the verge of the most glorious, exciting time in all of human history, but we must go through a dark tunnel before we see this radiant light. The return of our Lord and Savior, the Alpha and the Omega is on the horizon. It is a time of separation and preparation to meet our Bridegroom. The wedding feast is almost near. Our garments must be kept clean and our lamps must remain full of oil if we are to be included in this momentous event.

I encourage you, brothers and sisters, friends, family, and the people surfing the web who have happened to stumble upon this site to keep your minds stayed on Jesus, so that he may keep you in perfect peace. Let not your hearts be troubled. Do not fear the wiles of the devil. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Overcome evil with good. Endure hardships as good soldiers in the Lord’s end times army. Bless those who curse you. Pray without ceasing. Love, for it covers a multitude of sins.

I pray that you and your families will continue to be blessed. As you celebrate this day of giving thanks, think about those who are less fortunate that could benefit from whatever gifts and blessings God has provided you with. The world needs to see a true representation of the Kingdom of God, not this violent, greedy, shallow image that is prevalent now. Be the light that someone else needs in the hour of darkness. Allow the Lord to use you today to accomplish his divine purposes in the earth.
